Common Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius)
Older stems peel in many shades of brown giving the plant its namesake. It has beautiful white blossoms in June and its branches and foliage provide shelter and cover for many types of birds.
Plants are currently being sold in gallon-sized recycled plastic pots that were donated to our nursery by community members.
Why are We Planting This?
Flowers enjoyed by pollinators. Host plant for some insects, including various moths and the ninebark beetle.
